Advantages

  • Improves coordination of movement

  • Connecting breath and movement results in deep relaxation
  • It has a positive effect on the cardiovascular system due to the faster pace

Meaning of Flow

"Flow is when you feel like you're really alive, involved in what you're doing and in harmony with your environment." -  Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi

Tools, preparation

  • Essential: Yoga mat (preferably with a good grip)
  • Extra: Yoga strap, yoga brick
  • Preferably come to class on an empty stomach and organize your activities in a way that you do not engage in strenuous physical activity before or after the class.

Free Flow

Compared to more static yoga styles (such as hatha yoga), asanas are held for a shorter time in a creative, meditative sequence. The asanas are intertwined, one pose transitions smoothly into another like dance choreography. Thus, this class provides the experience of flowing. We connect the breathing with the movements, thus creating an intense concentration that absorbs the practitioner and the practice is permeated by the feeling of lightness and “traveling”. It feels like your body is being moved by your breath.

"Flow experience is focus and concentration when we do not notice the passage of time."
